Introduction: Hello, my name is Elena and I am a New York State certified English teacher, private tutor and writer/editor. With 16 years of experience helping individuals with reading, writing and college preparation, I am ready to help you with your project!
Services offered:
-Private Tutoring:
I have been working as a private tutor for the past 5 years. Before that, I worked as a high school English teacher in Upstate NY.
I always begin with taking the individual's personal interests into strong consideration when proceeding with materials and curriculum to aide in tutoring.
-Writing/Editing:
I have helped students and individuals with their writing and editing on many different levels. I have taught several writing courses, from Creative Writing to English Composition.
I have also been a writer for many years and have published several articles in local magazines and edited children's books.
-Resume Writing:
I have over 10 years experience with teaching resume writing. I have helped individuals from all walks of life create and fine tune their resumes. I will help you use the most appropriate keywords for the industry/role that you are applying to.

I was extremely blessed to have Elena Petsos edit my children’s book “ I want you to love me , too !” Her careful sensitivity and empathy shined through as she helped me and my mother upgrade the perfect words for our heartfelt stories. Elena helped me flesh out and solidify our vision by helping us create a cohesive and well rounded children’s book . I am very proud of our work together.
She helped me tremendously with the book layout and even helped me pick out the perfect font for the feel and look of this special project. Her attention to detail is amazing. She bounced creatively with my artwork and we made an incredible team. I can’t wait to collaborate with her on future projects. Her knowledge, patience, creativity and insight were absolutely key for my book to become as successful as it is .

Elena has been a blessing to my daughter throughout her high school career. She has helped her to develop writing skills and given her tools that have greatly increased her confidence. Ms. Petsos was extraordinarily approachable and knowledgeable (which are two fundamental qualities that make up a great teacher/tutor/instructor). I enjoy learning from her, as well as my two other siblings, too. As a first-year English minor, I felt prepared for college-level English courses after taking AP English Literature and Composition with Ms. Petsos.
