Our home burned down in the Marshall Fire down in Louisville at the end of 2021, and the F9 team designed a new house for us to rebuild on our empty lot. F9 was great to work with, responsive, and we ended up with a home we're excited to live in. The biggest thing I'd emphasize to potential clients is that F9 feels a lot more like a "product" business than a "services" business -- they're fantastic if you like their style and leave the whole project in their hands. If you're looking for more of an hourly 'services' style architect to do a large amount of back-and-forth with over time it's probably better to look elsewhere.

We hired the team at F9 this past summer (2021) to engineer and draft a full set of stamped and engineered plans for our new cabin in Cripple Creek, CO. Being the first time, we have ever hired an architect, we were skeptical and nervous and didn’t know what to expect. However, Lance, Alex, and the whole team were professional and easy to work with. Their price was fair and the process from start to finish went surprisingly fast despite the iterative back and forth nature of designing an entire home from scratch. The team recognized that we would be building the home ourselves and that we were working with a tight budget. Our build site is wooded, sloped, rocky, and has some other challenges that the team was able to easily address. We have learned that a good architect should save you money while still designing exactly what you need. Because of Lance and Alex’s knowledge and experience they were able to find opportunities where we could save some money and also get exactly what we wanted without sacrificing any of our needs and wants. During the process we had regular Zoom meetings, phone calls, and all of our questions were answered quickly on the spot or via email in almost real time. The whole process was surprisingly smooth, and we even had some above and beyond changes that were taken care of. I would highly recommend F9 Productions for any architectural needs. We hired F9 to build out a second bedroom downstairs, and based on our experience, we would definitely recommend their contracting services to others. The F9 team cared about the job details, listened and adjusted the work based on our requests, were 110% responsive to all communications and all for a fair price. The team was trustworthy and just really nice guys to have around the house, and with kids and pets, it offered ease of mind.

We have been working with F9 Architects (Lance Cayko) and Alex Gresh since July of 2020 on plans for an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) which we plan to live in. We started with F9 in July 2020 when the plan was to do an in-law addition to the existing house. We tabled that idea half way through the design phase and a couple months later reached back out to F9 to start on a separate ADU. We finally received Jeffco’s approval this week and are excited to build the small home that F9 designed. The lengthy permit process was based solely on Jeffco’s planning and zoning backlog, our planner leaving to take another job midway through her review and the time it took to get another planner assigned to our permit application. The permit was approved “without ANY comments” by the county which is indicative of the quality work that F9 does in their architectural drawings. We had an issue with the assessor’s office not having the correct footprint of pre-existing structures which F9 promptly took care of by working with the county to update their database information and to move our permit process forward. Lance and Alex are straight forward, easy to reach and easy to communicate with. They took our ideas and comments throughout the entire process and worked them into the design quickly except where they needed to back us away from a “good idea gone bad”. We recommend them without hesitation for any project large or small.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We don't have standard pricing because there aren't standard design problems. Each client has their own unique design challenges and we custom tailor our pricing to each customer to give them the best bang for their buck!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Ideally we like to first do a meet and greet at our client's place of business, residence, or plot of land they are planning to build upon. After that meeting we put together a detailed proposal outlining the design or drafting process. The process typically involves 4 stages: Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documentation, and Permit Documentation/Submittal.
