FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I work with two different pricing models- hourly and fixed fee. Fixed fee is good for projects with known and well defined parameters. Hourly is good for projects that are more open ended. Hourly can also be good for clients who are focused and can make quick and clear decisions as they can drive down the number of hours required for a project.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We have an initial meeting to make sure we are a good fit for each other in terms of timeline, budget, project type, and project needs. Once it is established that we are a good fit for each other then we sign a contract and the client pays a deposit for me to start work. We then have periodic meetings, approximately once or twice a month, as the project progresses to make sure we're on the right track.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an Honors B.S. in Architectural Studies and a Master of Architecture from the University of Utah. I have my professional architecture license. I am a CPHC (Certified Passive House Consultant) with PHIUS (Passive House Institute United States). I've worked for the past 7+ years in architecture doing residential work from concept to construction.
