FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
As a personal chef I charge a flat fee of $400 plus the cost of groceries. Typically I cook 1 week's worth of meals for anywhere from 1-6 people. That includes menu planning, shopping, prep, cooking, packaging, and cleaning up. I am happy to give a generous discount for those that want to include an additional family (perhaps a friend or neighbor) but the menu stays exactly the same. Cost for private catered events are based on menu and type of party. (Seated, cocktail party, buffet, etc) I couldnt give you a price estimate unless I had some details.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First we meet to see if we are a good fit. If we decide we are, we will create menu choices and choose a cooking day. I will do all the shopping and then arrive at your home early in the day to cook and package all the menu items agreed upon. Alternatively, I can do the cooking off site and deliver. Foods are left packaged and left with heating instructions. I also do a most fantastic job cleaning up!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have worked in the food biz for more than 40 years. Although I am not formally chef educated, I have had many many "teachers" over the years that have given me the skills I need to find my own creativity in the kitchen. I have worked in almost every capacity in the food service industry.
