FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've always loved to dance. From the time I was a little girl with no rhythm, I always felt compelled to move when I heard music. As I grew older, dance became my voice--a way of expressing myself like my words couldn't. I tried a "normal" career for a while but my heart was led back to dance.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
~Weekly technique classes at the studio ~Private choreography sessions for special events (weddings, pageants, etc.) ~Worship dance/praise dance workshops & seminars ~Event performances
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Look for a dance instructor that has been trained in dance at the collegiate level and/or has danced professionally. Don't settle for an instructor who has not pushed to learn more about their craft, because dance is ever evolving. Be sure the instructor is a good teacher. Many great dancers are not great instructors and many great instructors are not great dancers! Find a balance of experience and pedagogy.
