- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
People are often surprised to hear that I am self-taught. I have never taken any formal cosmetology classes. However, I make it a point to take at least 2 classes a year taught by artists whom I admire and believe I can learn from. I most recently completed the Master Beauty Series 5-Hour Artist Class, taught by Sheika Daley. She is responsible for looks seen on Lala Anthony, Kelly Rowland, and Serena Williams, just to name a few.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
About Face Artistry is representative of the changes we all sometimes strive to make but struggle on a starting point or direction. Though makeup and beauty cannot change an individual, it can be a part of the transformative process. To make an "about face," is to choose a new direction. Together, we begin that journey.
