FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My standard rates are as follows: Shoot: $750/day or $450/half-day Canon 70D camera, Canon E/F glass, Samson wireless lavalier, Rode shotgun mic, Bogen fluid-head tripod Edit: $60/hr Adobe Premiere CC Write/Produce/Direct: $75/hr Please contact me for a free written estimate based on your specific project.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Whenever I begin a new project, I talk with the client by phone or in person to get a full understanding of their needs and discuss different ways to execute their vision. Then I create a written proposal, outlining the entire production process, relevant deadlines, and expected costs. Once that proposal has been reviewed, revised and approved by the client, we begin the production.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Prior to my work in film, I spent 7 years as a staff and freelance journalist, which gave me a strong foundation in storytelling, research, and interview skills. Since 2006, I've worked professionally in film and video, starting as an editor, and working in virtually every job in the independent-film production ladder. In 2011, I completed my first feature-length film as Co-Director, and have now made a total of five documentary features. In addition to my work as a filmmaker, I also currently serve as the Upper School Film Teacher at Brentwood School, one of California's top independent schools. Since founding the program in 2013, I've created five different film courses, including a UC-approved yearlong "Introduction to Filmmaking" course.
