FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
A standard pricing system for fencing is by the linear foot. The linear feet is measured by using a tape measure around the perimeter that you want the fence installed. Some contractors can do Estimates using Google Maps to get preliminary pricing but all final footage and pricing on invoices should be done with a tape measure on site.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
A qualified fence contractor should provide the customer with a written Estimate prior to the customer making a final decision. An estimate will provide the customer with an average cost of there project. Sometimes this can be done using Google Maps in the case of fences and other times an on-site visit needs to be done. Before hiring a contractor you should have the contractor meet you on-site and finalize the measurements and costs before signing the Contract for them doing the work or paying any deposits. When paying a deposit an average deposit amount should be between 50% - 70% depending on the type of work being done. Final project payments should be paid the same day the work is completed.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We are constantly keeping up with fencing standards with the National Fence Authority as well as the utility companies. We have direct access to the NC and SC Pups system to have your utilities surveyed and marked free of charge to both of us. This allows us to keep up with there standards.
