Alea saved my wedding! My wife and I found ourselves without a photographer 2 weeks before our wedding as another photographer canceled on us at the last minute. To make matters worse, we were getting married on the other side of the country. I was lucky enough to contact Alea, and she went far out of her way to accommodate us on such short notice. Alea was fun to work with! Her creative and technical ability were just what we were looking for (this coming from a fellow photographer). We could not be happier with our photos. In fact, not only did Alea deliver what she promised on time, she over-delivered and gave us more than we were expecting! The slideshow video Alea gave us had my wife in tears of joy the first (second and third) time(s) we watched it. Alea was very dependable and quick to respond when I emailed or called her with questions. Her prices are EXTREMELY reasonable, especially considering her level of talent. My only regret is that I didn't book Alea FIRST. It would have saved me some grief. Thanks again, Alea!

Alea Deon Photography is nothing but top notch!! We used Alea to photograph our recent wedding at Jenny Lake in Jackson Hole WY at the base of the Teton Mountains!! We would not have wanted anyone else to do the job. She was wonderful. She kept us entertained and took tons of amazing pictures! We had a reception back in our home town a week after returning home from our honeymoon and Alea had already edited and submitted our pictures along with the amazing CD's put to music so we were able to play at our reception; so the work ethic and turn times are unbeatable. She made our day so special!! She comes highly recommended and you will be nothing but satisfied with her services!! Thank you Alea!!

Overall disappointed from the service received. Enormous lack of communication throughout the process, which ended with her ignoring our previous requests about who we really wanted photos of and the editing style we would prefer. The groom's side of the family is mostly absent from all photos. We had to keep asking her to take photos, and she acted like we were inconveniencing her. Very disappointing. A large majority of the photos turned out blurry, and she tried to compensate by adding unprofessional filter effects such as glowing or poster edges. Also, she used way too high of contrast and saturation, resulting in photos with large black blobs instead of recognizable suits and pants. The slide show is a joke. It's super-compressed so you can literally see the pixels in the photos (lower than cell-phone quality), and the quality of the music is awful as well. Had to practically beg to receive more than a CD 1/3 of the way full of jpegs (that's what we received first). We paid for seven hours, and she left out all getting ready photos and decoration photos and dancing photos off our original disc. Also, she asked to go home an hour early, and I let her because she said she had taken 3x the amount of photos she took at the last two weddings. I regret my generosity now. We received everything several weeks later than stated in the contract. Also, she is now double the price of what we paid after only being in business a year, and she is not worth either price in my opinion. Having a professional quality camera does not make you a photographer.
Alea Deon Photography & Elopements's reply
Hello Emily. I have never before received a negative response and I have LITERALLY taken thousands of wedding pictures. Honestly, gushing gratitude for fine work is the typical response I receive! Let us review the facts of your wedding day so that we can understand this isolated incident of a negative review (this has been my only one ever!). My overall reaction to your wedding was that it was a happy occasion. I say this despite the fact that it was held outside in an open park with ravishing winds and tumultuous rain. My assistant had to chase me around with an umbrella in the torrent. But you were a gorgeous bride and your new husband was quite handsome. The wedding party was unusually large (with several children) in the wedding party and getting them to pose for me was quite challenging. I have often photographed much larger parties without any issues. I love being a photographer and have always been able to assume positive reactions to my creative approach. As a very serious photographer, I work extremely hard to ensure that all my obligations as a wedding photographer are met. My dossier of VERY satisfied brides is impressive and unending. I meticulously plan and mull over where and when my wedding photos are to be taken so that each wedding is special and has a very unique flavor. Your wedding was no different, although my intentions may have been somewhat stymied by the torrid weather that day. I usually prepare a video of pictures to music as an artistic bonus to the wedding photograph package and add the music that is especially chosen by you for that wedding. I have only received positive feedback on these artistic videos (and have even received gratuitous tips worth hundreds of dollars because my clients were so pleased!). Understand that I am very zealous about my creative effort and listen carefully when it comes to my clients’ reactions and input to my work. Photography is my passion. My fervent goal is to delight all my clients. I can assure you that I have learned from my experience with your particular wedding and its distinct challenges. You and I obviously have creative differences. Odds are that this might happen to me once. However, I stand by my work at your wedding and have posted several of your pics on my website, designating them in a special slideshow so that anyone who questions my creative integrity can easily review them. They are beautiful. My credibility remains solid. When I shoot a wedding I aim to capture the essence of the marital union forever so that those pictures can memorialize the event. I do not take this weighty responsibility lightly and am naturally disappointed that you were dissatisfied in any way. Finally, the vapidness in your criticism, I must admit, came as a shock. Some people just do not understand the rashness of insulting a business’ reputation by baseless on-line attacks under an ‘Anonymous’ moniker (or maybe they do). You should know that creating a magnificent wedding photograph portfolio for each client is critically important to me. The truth is that I can't control whether one client (out of all of my many clients) will have creative differences. Still, I humbly thank you for your feedback and I promise to learn from your criticism. With sincerity and kindness, Alea Deon.

Alea was very professional for our photography session. I most appreciate that it was a very comfortable atmosphere where she was helpful and friendly. I enjoyed working with her for this photo shoot and will likely use her again in the future.

FAQs

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I have been taking pictures for over 10 years, and it was my own personal wedding planning that brought me to the realization that there aren't many affordable, quality photographers out on the market... and I decided to change it. My business seeks to help the bride on a budget, giving her amazing, beautiful, and quality photography for a price she could only dream of on her special day.
