- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was always told that I had a gift for helping people. I am a good listener and compassionate. I can see the same situation from many different viewpoints at the same time. I have a good analytical mind and at the same time, am very practical. I like to read and explore; I knew a great deal about the fields of psychology and coaching prior to entering these fields; from all that I read, from the professionals I spoke with, from the jobs and experiences I had, I knew that I would be able to help hundreds of people if I went into the fields of psychology and coaching.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Advising, Educating, Guiding clients toward success and harmony, Improving social interaction, Improving family relationships, Helping people advance in the work place. Building self-esteem and empowering people to accomplish goals and/or to make changes whether it be a career, a life style, his or her marital status, Improving coping skills and improving one's ability to cope with adversity. Rendering emotional support to help people deal and weather difficult circumstances (for example, living with a fatal illness, suffering the loss of a child, being disfigured by an accident) helping in crises and in decision making, coaching for issues that pertain to life in general, to educational matters,,to making changes or adaptations in one's career, to making adjustments in all types of situations (for example, in marriage, in a change in one's financial or social circumstances) helping
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
To try it out for a limited amount of time and then it will be evident if the customer has made a good choice.
