Introduction: I love working with people and finding solutions to problems. It takes a certain skill to be fully committed to the plan, but to also ask all the right questions so that if the plan needs to change you are ready with options.

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I planned my own wedding about 5 years ago - It was a grand event, 5 day, Indian wedding, with multiple locations, events, themes. After family and friends saw that I have been recruited to help with planning, organizing, problem solving, and day-of coordination by many family and friends. Helping out for so many years has given me so much experience I am bursting with information, ideas, solutions and I want to share that with new brides. For anyone who has not planned an event like this before there are so many things to consider. I can help sort through how to make decisions, how to plan with perspective - things you want now and things you will appreciate that you did in the future.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

Recently I have been assisting on out-of-town weddings. This affects the timing, and I am on-site 1 week before the wedding getting the details finalized. I've used my checklists to make sure the DJ knows what song to play when the couple enters the hall, confirm rings have been picked up from the jeweler, outfits for all family members have been assigned and ironed and are on location, confirmed timing for the makeup artist to come, and then managing all vendors on the big day.

  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

Recently I worked on a multi-event wedding that combined Indian, Chinese, and American traditions and threaded a book theme into the main events (wedding and reception). Timing was extremely tight for each day and there were added challenges with multiple vendors - such as having 2 caterers for the reception, one for Indian food and one for Chinese food, deciding how much vegetarian/ nonvegetarian, and how much of each cuisine. These were unique challenges to this event and we worked hard discussing options, percentages, and finally settled on the amounts that were right for the guests and the budget. Each wedding is unique and has its own challenges. My role is to quickly and efficiently guide the decision so that we save money, time, and peace of mind.
