FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Always.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've always been interested in psychology and personal growth, and was active one way or another in that community for most of my adult life. In my early 30s I became a personal chef, and in the context of developing diet plans (and cooking for clients), I coached people to health, weight loss, etc. From there, I went back to school for life coaching. Instead of giving people food, I wanted to help them develop the tools to take care of themselves. I soon realized that when a problem (obstacle) appeared in one area of someone's life (i.e.. an addiction, for example), it affected all areas. So, I became a holistic coach to address the whole person. Now, it's about two things: focussing on (or identifying) what makes a person get out of bed in the morning, and identifying the obstacles standing between them and their happiness. It doesn't matter if it's about relationships, fitness or career, because it's all connected. You solve one problem, and you've acquired the tools to solve all of them.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Take advantage of the complimentary first session. Use it however you want. You can dive into the coaching, or just ask a bunch of questions. The goal: to see if you "click" with the coach.
