FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The music and professional audio field is ever-evolving: the people, the gear, the technology, the influences, and the industry. Consumer tastes are also changing, especially with smartphones and the ability to be always connected. Services such as Spotify, Beats Music, Pandora, Rdio, and the like have vastly changed the landscape of "traditional" music delivery services. I stay on top of all the latest news, regularly follow blogs such as The Recording Revolution and Home Studio Corner, visit my musician friends in Nashville, attend Durango's annual Songwriters Expo, and follow Berklee College of Music course offerings and news on recording and the music/audio industry.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Music has always been a passion of mine. In late 2010 a musician friend of mine did a mashup - which is combining portions of two or more songs with the same tempos - of a 2-Pac and Biggie Smalls tune with nothing but a laptop. It was that mashup that made me decide to get into professional audio recording.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
The most common work I do for clients is in-studio recordings of one or two songs at a time, or overdubbing vocals on top of a already-recorded musical piece.
