FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Per page, my 2014 rate is $10-20 per page, sliding scale. For the F2F meeting, $50-$200. Obviously, an employed lawyer can pay more than someone who has just been laid off.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I teach in a continuing education department where there are constant conferences about latest developments in every field. I am an autodidact and read constantly. I also am privileged to be able to take two free courses a term at NYU. I avail myself of this as much as possible, but not often enough.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
It was an accident in a way. I was living abroad and in culture shock most days. I bought some small notebooks and starting notating conversatoins and observations. Then my husband got me my first gig as a book reviewer for the Times Educational Supplement. I had a California State Teaching credential, and also taught in secondary schools in London.
