Introduction: As a singer it is crucial that you find an excellent teacher. No matter, whether you are a vocal student or a professional singer, you need a voice teacher who offers you solid technical results. The teacher should also be passionate about teaching and you should feel that you can trust him or her. It is the obligation of a voice teacher to guide you as an individual singer with your own vocal needs. You are part of the process and if you have found a teacher who has a very good ear and offers solid technical results for your vocal need, trust and work day by day and you will make progress. There are two types of teachers. Those who follow a strict curriculum, and those who design lesson plans to fit individual learners. I am of the latter group. A good teacher listens before instructing. One must be intuitive, creative,open-hearted & passionate! The big moments (successful auditons & performances) are terrific. The best moments in my work as a teacher come when a student makes an important connection, or when one comes into the studio feeling low, and leaves refreshed and feeling positive about themselves. How great is that?

She truly stands out among all the wonderful instructors I've had the pleasure of learning from. I highly recommend Christine to anyone at any level! Not only are her musical and teaching skills tops, but she has such a beautiful personality as well.

I went to Christine a year ago to help me work on expanding my range. As an older woman and high soprano I wanted to broaden the kind of roles I could audition for. Christine was exactly the right person for me! She herself has an extensive range, and taught me how to listen to how my voice was changing from head to chest as I moved from the top to the bottom. Although I ultimately realized that I was not meant to be a contralto, I used the techniques she taught me to take my voice to the top (I now have a reliable high c). I also use the skills she taught me to become a successful choral coach for Gilbert and Sullivan productions. Christina listens carefully to her students and adjusts her teaching to meet their specific needs. She has a broad repertoire and knows how to choose music that is suited to the student's voice and stylistic preference. She is professional and prompt. The only problem I had as a student with Christine was that I wanted to talk to her and pick her brain, and there was just not enough time to learn everything that she was capable of teaching before my finances forced me to discontinue. But I recently went to her for a coaching session to get ready for an audition, and she helped me substantially improve my song, which increased my confidence for a successful audition. I cannot recommend her more highly.

Christine is an amazing teacher and an absolutely wonderful person to work with. She has a deep understanding of so many aspects of singing and performance that I find every lesson I've learned something new and grown in my understanding of voice, musicality, and performance. I cannot express enough how lucky I feel to have found Christine. Not only does she have an amazing ability to diagnose and work through problem areas, she does it with such patience and kindness that I always feel encouraged and empowered when I leave. In one year with Christine I went from knowing nothing about classical singing or technique (not to mention I was petrified of singing in front of people) to well versed singing in 3 languages and performing for large audiences with confidence. I credit her with this transformation in me and I am so so grateful.

Christine is an amazing teacher. She has patience, wit and technical ability. She tutored my teenage son who had no formal training in voice or musicianship and after six months of training with Christine, he gained entry to the Classical Voice department at SOTA. He enjoys his lessons with her and his self confidence has skyrocketed. Christine designed a course in musicianship and music composition for him, provides him with supplemental entertaining materials and books. I am very impressed by the amount of wisdom, care and information she gives him. She goes above and beyond what I could have ever expected.

Christine is patient, encouraging, and provides targeted and personalized feedback. She worked with me to find pieces that fit my voice, used different ways of explaining things until we found a common vocabulary, and was always willing to spend a little extra time if we were making really good progress. I feel more confident about my singing already!
