Roberto Hidalgo

Introduction: Roberto Hidalgo has been guiding aspiring pianists, professional and amateur, in their search for excellence for more than 20 years. With degrees from Mannes (BM, MM) and Manhattan School of Music (DMA), he has developed a reliable method of transmitting the invaluable teachings of his mentors, many of them world renowned artists, to new generations of aspiring musicians. As an active performer, I take particular interest in developing the necessary skills needed on the stage: the ability to perform in front of an audience and the mental frame that allows one to utilize the psychological pressure in a positive way. To see a student mature pianistically, improving technique and musicianship, is one of the most precious gifts I get from my work. Regardless of the reach and aspirations of my students, whether they are preparing for a competition or audition, a concert, or simply enjoying playing the piano at home, it is their enthusiasm and curiosity for new musical challenges what makes my work interesting and stimulating.
