Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I treat every persons computer as if I will be the one using it. This means that I will not do anything on your system that I will not and have not already done to my computers. This also occasionally ends up as not the cheapest solution, because often cheapest equals lower quality. However, I do want to minimize your cost outlay. I try to recommend Free or lower cost solutions that do not compromise quality. Personal respect is high on my criteria as well. I will work to convey my findings and intentions only as technically as you want... I've found that many Computer Tech's will technobabble at customers to get them to go away and the customer ends up not knowing what was done to their computer and understands less on how to use it after the tech leaves. That is the last thing I want. I want you to understand as much about what I've done and what you may need to do after I leave as possible, and remember that I am just a call, email or text away! This job is great, I get to go out into the community and help people better use technology! What could be better? I am my own boss, I get to use and work with computers and new technology every day. I can ride my motorcycle to my customers home or office and make them happy.

I have been working with Russ for a long time and he is the best. He really knows what he is doing and he explains things in an easy way you are able to understand. He is responsive, makes excellent recommendations on technology or options that I have not even known about, and his prices are very fair. For all you computer issues, no matter how big or small, Russ is your go to guy!

Did a good job on the tech side but ripped me off on the cost of product. I suggest you buy the equipment he suggest yourself online and just have him bill you for the labor to install.
Coastal Computer Care's reply
In response to Joe’s accusation of ripping him off on the hardware cost… Joe was not my actual customer from Thumbtack; he is the land holder/manager where my customer resides. My customer contacted me about a failing hard drive in her iMac. Incidentally, she asked if there was a possible way to get a better Wi-Fi signal into her apartment. This is when Joe was contacted. He agreed to buy the equipment if she would pay for the labor. After this I found and purchased all the hardware needed for both the iMac and to add an Access Point for the Wi-Fi issue. At the time of purchase the Access Point was not on sale, but was the less costly of the 2 options I had available to me for the purpose. I chose the less costly device. It took me a little over a week to get the hardware, repair the iMac and schedule a return of the iMac and setup of the Access Point. Once done, both my customer and Joe appeared to be satisfied, I told Joe a price for the Access Point. I added about $7 to the actual purchase cost of the device, call it “handling markup”… I ask you are my time, effort, and travel worth $7 to get you sometime that there are 30 items to choose from…? By the time I had arrived back at my office, Joe was accusing me of gouging him on the price, he quoted me the CURRENT price of the device where I purchased. As stated, it was close to 2 weeks since I purchased it and prices are always in flux both up and down. I told him this and sent him a copy of my purchase Invoice. He took that invoice, called the company and using the invoices information presented himself as me and made a financial transaction without my pre-knowledge OR consent. AS in Fraud! He had, in my name had the price difference between my purchased price and the current price refunded to my credit care. He was demanding a refund in the difference; I did send him a check for $34.50 after the credit actually showed up on my credit card. I had originally charged him $135.00, the actual cost was 128.19. He found it on the site for $85.00, today (I just looked) it costs $99.18 before tax and shipping. From here you be the judge. I strive to be Fast, Fair, Curious, and Considerate of everyone’s situation.

Most recently, Rus assisted me remotely in finding a computer that was best suited to my needs and budget limitations. In the past, he's been very helpful in troubleshooting and general Q&A. He's very patient and competent. While he's very technically adept, he does a great job of speaking English to those of us who aren't as savvy.

I've had Rus out more than a few times and he always gets it figured out. He even explains it so the 'techno-illiterate' (that would be me.) can understand. He has my recommendation. Bob C. Pacifca CA
