FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, NASM requires you to renew your certification with hours of study and/or hands on conferences every two years. I also have to be CPR/AED certified.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
When I was 12 years old I had developed impingement in my shoulders (an overuse injury) from competitively swimming 6-9 times a week. I was told I could either get surgery or weight train to help with pain management. I chose to weight train and found an incredible trainer. His passion was unmatched and he sparked my interest in personal training. I love helping people and motivating them to achieve greater things then they feel capable of. I love the challenge of creating new, exciting, innovative, effective workouts for my clients and love to see them excel.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I mostly train one on one and also do small group training. I have also taught group exercise classes varying from a Zumba like class to total body strength. I have had a range of clients over the years from the division one athlete to an 82 year old golfer. I love how different each client is and working with them to formulate an individualized program.
