I recently had to complete court order personal counseling with a new prespective counseling center and the class I was ordered to take was anger management with counseling as well! I was told the classes could be able to be completed in as little as 8-12 weeks! They assigned me a therapist who has taken 14 weeks and still needs 3 more weeks to complete the course! I have to show the court proof that I complied with the therapy and classes on 08/26/14 that they requested me to complete I made a verbal and written request for documentation to be sent to my attorney on 07/23/14 my therapist reassured me that she was still completeing the paperwork and the documents would be sent accordingly after one month of time and knowledge they never sent the paperwork! When I requested my records to be sent they told me they sent the paper work to a person I never even requested to receive then told me that if my attorney need copies I needed to submit a request in writing when I advises the owner I already had she told me you attorney also needed to request the records in writing! My attorney advised me we have a legal right to all records go and request them in person I went to the office and politely requested record and the staff present apologized and acknowledged that was no way to treat a patient with court requirements! She said she would speak with the owner to print the records and have copies made for my self and could have them ready by Monday! I then get a call from the owner who called me rude for stopping by with out and appointment and said records are release upon completion of counseling and can make a strain on therapist and counselor relationships! And that in other states therapist are not even required to give copies to clients at all but I reside in Florida and the law clearly states I have a right to my record and evaluations! I would never recommend this place to any one it's obvious they don't know how to treat there patients I had enough going on in my personal life to then also have to be put through being treated so badly! And this place is not above the law and better than anyone to apply rules as they see fit and not comply with releasing records when requested by a patient!
