Remember: "the cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek" Hello, I’m Curtis Harris I became a personal trainer over ten years ago to share my enthusiasm, passion and knowledge to show people how physical fitness could ultimately change a persons way of life for the better. My extensive background in coaching(Corrective Exercise, Boxing, MMA Conditioning and Women’s Fitness Specialist) has provided me with the ability to comprehend various perspectives that has enabled me to reach out and connect with diverse clientele no matter the fitness level, exercise style, goals and where they are on the motivation scale. I personally design 6-12month training program for each client with a quarterly evaluation to make sure we are on par in obtaining your goals set out to achieve. Transformations come ahead of schedule but they’re mostly achieved right on schedule. We (my clients and I) form an alliance to surpass the initial goal we set to achieve. I’m a firm believer in setting S.M.A.R.T(Specific/Measurable/Attainable/Relevant/Time-Based) an train to surpass them. Getting to know my clients is very important to me/for us. Listening plus developing a true understanding of who they are and their journey is monumental, not only in creating a tailored program but to also construct the Frame work in building a lasting bond! Connecting with clients also give me information on how they learn and how to deliver info and how to challenge them. Our first meeting is called “the initial evaluation(Eval) where I walk you though the PAR-Q (Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire) where we’ll go over questions pertaining to medical history, current health and fitness levels, hobbies, body fat%, heat rate, body circumstance and talk nutrition. Next, I will conduct the physical screening where I’ll walk you through a series of movements and holding patterns, checking your strength, functional movement. Based on the eval is where I will develop your training program. I genuinely love to help people grow to understand what living a healthier and active life looks and feels like. It’s electrifying to witness the preverbal “light switch”turned on in a clients mind when they truly “get it”. I train clients primarily in Manhattan at a private fitness center and/or at their home/apartment gym. I conclusion, I look forward to hearing from you and coaching you to the body you desire. Curtis is the best and the most professional personal trainer I have ever seen. Trust me if you tried him, then you will love him. He will let you do different exercises every time so I never feel boring during the training. I also successfully lost my weight and my body feels great too. :)

When I decided to take the plunge and look for a personal trainer, I starting asking my friends for referrals. After a few recommendations didn’t pan out (timing/fees/personality), I decided to look on-line. I was skeptical about this route, but after reading the testimonials and biographical information on Curtis’ website CROSS COMPOUND , I was not only impressed but my intuition told me I had found the “real deal”. My positive feeling was confirmed within just a few sessions with Curtis. From the get-go it was obvious he genuinely wants to provide his clients with the motivation and best possible training regime he can offer. HIs questions were extremely thorough about my health history, lifestyle, goals and expectations. He asked more questions then some doctors I’ve gone to in my life! His experience, knowledge and expertise are impressive, to say the least. I am now about 8 months into working out with Curtis. I certainly have a ways to go, but I feel that I could not be in better hands, and his care and concern for my well-being and progress have not diminished one bit over that time. Be prepared to sweat a whole lot. And feel good about yourself a whole lot. Go for it. Glad I did.

An incredible experience training. I really appreciate the guidance, explanation of the exercises and the benefits of why each routine is tailored for my specific needs. Having a busy schedule cross compound found a way to fit training into my schedule while keeping me motivated and educated on how and why I was making progress. You'll be pushed to your limit and then through your limit with a partner more than a coach.

Curtis is a great personal trainer! My husband and I are martial artists, and both trained with him together. We would walk out after each session thoroughly exhausted, but with a smile on our faces. Curtis pushed us to and past our limits, and gave us tools to use in our own practice as well. Sessions with him are certainly not easy. In fact, they're quite grueling. But he gives you the motivation you need to push past your comfort zone and grow beyond. Not only does he give you the ability to do more than you ever thought you were capable of, but he is knowledgeable and understanding - I have a hip injury and he gave me additional exercises to try on my own to help, and knew when and where to push me without causing further injury. If you're looking for some hard work that pays off, and a way to push past the "limitations" you feel you may have, I highly recommend working with Cross Compound!
