Dongni Yang's Music Studio

Introduction: I am a Classically trained pianist , so I would apply the most professional methods where I learned from the world class pianist as langlang, Vivian Li, Mack Macry etc to my work to help each student to gradually grow the skills of piano performance as musicianship, notes reading, performaning techniques, sightreading. As an award-winning classical pianist, Yang’s performances have been described as"Brilliant, powerful, but also sentimental, exquisite, touching, from the bottom of the soul". Yang started piano lessons since age 4 under professor Shixu LI, and then continued with professor Huifang Ye, the leading authority in classical piano education of the time, and renowned piano professor Yafen Zhu, whose students also include prodigy international concert pianist Langlang. Following this, She was accepted to XinHai conservatory of music where she did her undergraduate studies with esteemed pianist Vivian Li, and earned her Bachelor's degree in piano performance at XingHai in 2009 and right after, she was accepted to San Francisco conservatory of music, which is ranked as one of 10 best conservatory of music in U.S, where she studied under distinguished pianist Mack McCray, and finished her Master's degree in piano performance in 2011. Yang received scholarships from both famous institutions. As a concert pianist, Yang has been performing worldwide as a solo pianist and also accompanist in various national piano music festivals and master classes in China and U.S. Dongni Yang won the first prize in “SanDu” piano competition in ChangZhou, 2004, the young pianist competition in “Nanjinbei” 1999, Guangdong province “Shaude”pianist competition in 2009, and Third place in the German young pianist competition in 2009. ​ As a piano instructor, she is privileged to have taught extraordinary students who have already become piano teachers serving in bay area; who have graduated with bachelor degree in piano performance and many of them have achieved level 8 (top level) of ABRSM international piano exam with distinction Helping students to open their eyes and ears to see the beauty of music and understanding this language. They also inspire me to be a better teacher. I am grateful to have their not just as my students but good friends.
