FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I generally charge $30 for a half hour session and $55 for an hour during peak hours, but I'm willing to discount my rates if a client is flexible enough to help me fill some gaps in my schedule. I also offer discounts for packages.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The very first thing I like to do is a full assessment of not only physical capabilities and limitations, but also lifestyle and work habits. This helps me not only better understand my client but also helps provide me with everything I need to know to design an effective and, above all else, safe program. Once I have all the information required I go to work to create a very specific program for my clients needs. I try to provide ambitious bench marks and realistic predictions about the time it will take to reach them.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am constantly furthering my education. The most recent one I added to my resume was a week long intensive bio mechanics course at the Cybex Research Institute in Massachusetts. I also obtained a Mixed Martial Arts Conditioning Specialist certification as well as a Corrective Exercise Specialist certification, both through the National Academy of Sports Medicine I'm a huge believer in TRX training, and hold two certifications on their Suspension Trainer, one on their Rip Trainer, and one in their functional training. In addition I have found an invaluable resource to be brainstorming with other trainers every chance I get. As with any job it is easy to fall into a routine after a while, and I've found that exposing myself to other trainers' styles prevents me from making my workouts monotonous.
