Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. The most common type of job our company performs birthday cookie bouquets, hand delivered in our home town of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Our customers love the fact that they can call us with their order on Wednesday, and by Friday afternoon, their grandchild is receiving a colorful cookie bouquet custom created just for them (with their name appearing on the cookies in icing) and a special note card included from the sender. Of course, we deliver to all Pittsburgh area hospitals, and new parents are the most surprised and appreciative of a sweet edible treat bearing the name of their new arrival. And as always, we deliver with a smile!

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. My advice to all customers is to do your homework. Not all companies are owner operated. We are, and that makes Bailey's Dozen Cookie Company special. Time and attention to detail is something every customer wants, at Bailey's Dozen Cookie Company, you'll get it..along with a thank you. Over the years, I have been encouraged to expand, however, I like getting to know my customers. Our company has been involved with the same families and their repeat business from bridal shower favors, to cookies for the wedding, through favors for their child's baptism and birthdays to grandparent's anniversaries.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. My work stands out from others because I take a personal approach with my business. I am able to accept custom orders and work one on one with each client, giving their order attention. An icing artist is like any other artist, we must listen to what the client wants. Bailey's Dozen Cookie Company also stands out from the average bakery and gift basket company because we use all natural ingredients from local suppliers.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I don't think I could ever pinpoint one thing I like most about my job, if you can even call it that. I believe strongly that the old saying applies "If you do what you love, You will never work a day in your life." And truly I love it. I enjoy a challenge and when customers ask if I can draw a certain logo, or come up with an idea for a gift basket for someone who has everything, I am always up to the challenge. My favorite part of the job is that I deliver happiness. I look forward to going to area Pittburgh hospitals with a Welcome Baby Bouquet and presenting it to new parents on behalf of out of town realatives who want to share in the joy, but can't be there themselves.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. I wish the public could knew how many hours, and how much thought goes in to each of our Cookie Bouquets. We are not a national chain, and never want to be, we are a local Pittsburgh based company who happens to ship everywhere in the United States. Each of our orders are made to order, fresh and rolled, cut and decorated by hand. We do not freeze anything or keep cookie bouquets on shelves awaiting delivery. Each of our orders is special and custom to each client. I suppose my biggest wish that potential customers knew about my cookies is that some designs take at least two days to create, and the price reflects the labor, thought and personal attention Bailey's Dozen Cookie Company offers.
