Introduction: Estate CleanUps will meet with the client and discuss what items the family wants and tag them and the rest of the items will be sorted, sold, donated or carted away. If family members are out of town when a loved one passes we can help facilitate the process as your time may be limited. We can provide the family with vendors needed after the clean out process, such as an electrician, plumber, landscaper or real estate agents. We really help you get through the whole process.
Dont just throw it away, DONATE IT!
Are you moving and looking to make a fresh start? Is it time to get rid of the treasures that you have accumulated over the years? Have your children outgrown toys, clothes and some of your furniture?
If you are moving and calling on a cleaning company to haul away items that you have no use for then you may want to ask the company if it will stop at your local thrift store to make a donation on the way to the landfill. Many cities and towns have a church or municipal thrift store that would be happy to receive these slightly used items from you. There may even be a Salvation Army Center close by.
It may cost you up to an extra hour on the clock with the hauler but the donation receipt will more than make up for it on your tax deductions. The donation centers usually just date the receipt and have you fill in what you have donated. Since you know what you paid for the items, you will be able to determine what the fair market value for your items will be. The hauler will just give you the blank receipt and you do the rest.
Parting with items that you have held onto for a long time can be stressful. Knowing that someone else can experience some joy in the same way that you have can be relaxing. At least it will make the separation less painful and so will the tax deduction at the beginning of next year!
