FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attend the largest multi-day dog trainer's educational conference in the country. The Association of Professional Dog Trainers provides continuing education to advance the profession of dog training. I also serve on staff for conference.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Technique and methods matter. Many training techniques are tried and true effective but not current. Don't choose any trainer who would do something that would seem painful or detrimental, then defend that method as the only way for your case. I guarantee it's not.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Dog trainers are passionate dog lovers, and pet parents like you. They have varied levels of skill, experience and training. Saying they're an expert doesn't necessarily mean their skill set is above par. You may need to search for someone with the ability to handle your situation.
