I bring my two passions -- writing that is a pleasure to read and progressive Christian faith -- together in my work. I was trained in Bible and theology at a Lutheran college and a Lutheran seminary, served almost 14 years in pastoral ministry, and have taken a number of courses to solidify my editorial skills. For the editing services I provide, I combine an instinctive grasp of correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling and what makes for excellent writing overall with my diligence in using resources such as dictionaries and style guides to double-check anything about which I am uncertain. I routinely provide explanatory comments to clients to help them learn from my edits. I am pleasant to work with and prompt in responding to email or providing updates from my end. I find great joy and satisfaction in copyediting or proofreading written materials that encourage growth in faith, support justice and inclusivity, celebrate diversity, and give voice to the marginalized of the world. While my background is in Lutheran Christianity, I love learning, through my work and in other ways, about the spiritual journeys of others -- whatever their faith tradition and path.
