Laura Falzon made me feel comfortable from our very first lesson. After moving to the city, I was hoping to start auditioning and performing again; it had been a while and let's face it, auditioning is never easy. After having a trial lesson and short discussion about my goals we made a plan. Laura helped me to not only gain a new level of confidence in my auditions, but also a deeper understanding and appreciation for my passion in life which is flute/music. Laura is a patient, kind, knowledgeable and extremely talented musician. I'm very pleased with the progress I've made thus far and always look forward to lessons. I would highly recommend her for any age and playing ability.

Laura has been my son's flute teacher for 4 years and she is terrific. She is always positive, patient, explains things clearly and he is motivated to practice and play. He is now 14 and always enjoys the lessons.

An excellent studio teacher must have two essential qualities: performer and educator. I believe Laura Falzon possesses both aspects, and she incorporates her knowledge and experience very well in her flute studio. Laura's solo and collaborative performances are an excellent model for a student musician, and very inspiring as one develops their musical skills. Laura also is very aware of a student's learning needs; her interpersonal skills and musical knowledge make her a fantastic mentor. Her lessons are fun and engaging, yet also challenging. Laura strikes the balance in enjoying making music and pushing her students to grow more as musicians. I most certainly recommend Laura's flute studio to any student who aspires to grow both technically and artistically as a musician.

I loved working with Laura! This was my first time taking instrument lessons so I was a complete novice. It is not easy picking up an instrument for the first time as an adult. I had not read music since elementary school but can easily do so now! The mark of a good teacher is one who can adapt to the students needs- which Laura easily does. Laura is warm, funny, patient and very skilled with teaching all levels.I quickly felt at ease with her. Her teaching techniques were extremely helpful in building my skills in the flute. You will learn proper mouth formations, breathing, posture and flute maintenance. I am very excited that she is building her own studio and hope to continue lessons there.

I just began taking lessons with Laura this semester at TC, and so far I have enjoyed every moment. Each time we work on a piece I hear it with new life and can approach it with an open mind. I love the work we do to really explore the expression and phrasing of the music, while never neglecting the important fundamentals of tone production and pitch. I really feel like Laura is truly aware and present at all moments of my lesson. All aspects of my playing are acknowledged and worked on at different times. I do not feel like a mechanical machine during my lessons, instead I feel as if I really have the opportunity to express myself and extend my own boundaries through my flute playing.
