I generally charge $0.10/word for written translation, though each job is considered on a case by case basis.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA in Linguistics from University of California, Santa Cruz. I have been translating on and off a freelance basis since 2011. I have translated, interpreted, and transcribed as a paralegal for an immigration law firm since 2015.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I got started interpreting in an informal context for family members, and with my work in the legal sphere, took my translation to the next level, honing my craft by necessity and striving to perfect the seamless flow of my translations. My work in transcription came about as a natural accompaniment to this work.
