Introduction: I enjoy all aspects of working on a design project. However, if I had to select my favorites there are two: -Creating the rapport and bond with my clients -Final installation I relish client consultations as it allows me to get a feel for my client's personalities and preferences which allows me to develop and understanding of their sense of style. Very often a client's design aesthetic is a physical manifestation of his or her character. I try to glean as much information as I can so when I am making selections, my choices are in line with their vision. Final installation is one of the most exciting parts of a design process. Seeing my client's inspiration take shape through my design directive is truly gratifying. I also delight in witnessing my clients elation as watch they their space evolve into a home. These experiences are a couple of the many reasons why my job is so rewarding.

Adrienne is a true professional. We were introduced in 2008 where she was a full service designer at a high-end, downtown Chicago, retail store. We shared the same interests and were especially passionate about good design. I am one of five condo Board Directors of an eighteen unit, nearly 100 year old, recently rehabbed, loft building in River North, Chicago. I recommended Adrienne to completely revitalize all the common areas of the building. Her proposals were professional and comprehensive and she had no reservations about presenting multiple times to a diverse group of condo board members. She was hired immediately. All wall and trim colors, floor coverings, light fixture selections, common area furniture and art, including accessories were made by her. She followed up, in person, and often to oversee the progress of the project. Most importantly, it was done on time and within our budget and the end result is an amazing fusion of the original loft elements with an updated contemporary look. I first found Adrienne at Gentry Design Studio (GDS) on the Thumbtack website in the summer of 2014. My husband and I were downsizing from 4 bed/3 bath suburban single family home to a 2 bed/2 bath city condominium. The work to be done was extensive: gut renovation of the Master Bath and Guest Bath, new carpeting, new floor tile and backsplash in the Kitchen, new paint throughout the unit, new doors and hardware, lighting and furniture. We wanted to move away from a traditional design aesthetic to a comfortable urban/city theme. Adrienne expertly incorporated the artwork that we had into an updated style to create an inviting home that my husband often walks into and says “I love our place.” Adrienne and her resources came in within our budget and timeline. She incorporated her “high/low selection process” to make our budget work for us and give us what we wanted without sacrificing style and quality. Adrienne respects that the home belongs to us and that we want to love where we live. As a result of how happy we were with our new home, my husband also chose to use GDS for his office. Adrienne’s eye for color palettes and texture refreshed the space with a timeless design theme. We highly recommend Adrienne and GDS for any design project you may have be it residential or commercial. She listens to her clients and gives them what they want. And her excitement for her profession is refreshing, comforting and satisfying.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes. I enjoy keeping myself immersed in my trade's latest developments so I attend Continuing Education courses offered by different industry organizations. I also pour over trade magazines, blogs, periodicals and attend home shows that keep me up to date on what trends are current, upcoming and passe.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always been inspired by the beauty of the arts and the creativity of the design world. As a child I discovered that I had an innate ability to plan a room, coordinate materials, colors and accessorize as well as the desire to help my friends enhance their rooms. It soon became my passion and the decision to immerse myself in the field was a simple determination.
What types of customers have you worked with?
My design projects have ranged from large scale (gut rehabilitation) to small scale (color consultation). I let my client indicate how involved they want me to be within the parameter of the work that needs to be done. No project is too small, I enjoy the challenge of providing my client with what they need to make their home visually compelling and functional.
