- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My standard fee for psychotherapy or counseling is $150 per 45 minute therapy hour, but a sliding scale is available down to a minimum of $100. For mediation, I charge $200 per 60 minute hour, and generally work in two hour blocks. As a therapist-mediator, my fees are about half that of an attorney-mediator. I can also see my mediations clients through their entire divorce process, including designing and effective and appropriate parenting plan.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I do extensive continuing education on a regular basis.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Interview the therapist over the phone, and, if you feel good about that contact, arrange one appointment to see how the therapy feels in person before deciding on an ongoing commitment.
