Introduction: Most web content puts people to sleep. Typically there is a dearth of creativity past the initial headlines and visuals. As a creative writer for over 20 years, my work stands in direct contrast to the run-of-the-mill blather typical of most websites. No one ever succeeded by putting their audience to sleep. It's always something new.

Ah, where do I begin? Joe is absolutely one of the best writers I have ever worked with. Period. When we worked together (mostly at the late, great Gardner Advertising, among others), we often wore each other‘s hats. By that I mean that Joe is extremely visual in his thinking, and very open to copy ideas from the design person. It was not uncommon for him to come up with the visual idea and for me to supply the headline. We both loved this arrangement, and I think we were all the better for it. In past years I have really missed working with Joe, but I still hold out hope that we will work together again. Needless to say, I think he is one of the best and most fertile minds I have known, and I miss those days beyond words. They were the best times of my life. i wish him nothing but success in his concepting, writing and guitar playing. Mike Whitney

I worked with Joe as voiceover talent when we both lived in St. Louis. His writing was reliably outstanding and his communication was always so clear that it was a pleasure to produce his work.

Joe knows how to concept an ad and how to write it in a crisp, concise manner. He writes great headlines and doesn't forget to craft the body copy.

Joe is a a craftsman. I can say this because we have worked together for over 20 years, on all manner of assignments. Ralston Purina, Jack Daniel's, Charter Communications, Xcel Energy, we've worked together on some big brands. And in each case he has been a true asset. He loves the art of writing and sees every assignment as important enough to be done with thought and attention to detail. But he's not just a wordsmith. He's an insightful thinker. His point of view is that without a good idea, the best writing isn't enough. He puts in the time it takes to make good advertising. No shortcuts.

Joe is a terrific writer and very inventive. At the same time, he can write to an established strategy, if that is available. I would trust him with all media, but especially television.
