About
The moment when everything comes together- the mix has been realized, we've finished basic tracking, and the engineer and artist can come together to fully embrace the marriage of sounds that have produced a new body of work. It's the art of mutual creative process that drives our passion at Akin- and the desire to share that passion with others is why we do it so well.

Akin Studios is a wonderful diamond in the rough. Located in an old, renovated warehouse in North Bennington, VT, this studio offers great equipment and rates with the luxury of being in a beautiful, small-town paced area. Lunch up the road is cheap and good; and stepping out of the studio to clear the ears to find yourself by a bullrush-edged stream is definitely a treat. Matt and Sam are extremely gracious owners. A great place to record.

Having been a recording engineer in nyc for the last 5 years i have found the most success in my projects at Akin Studios. There is one big live room with a riverside view and a cozy control room creating a truly inspiring setting. Akin has acquired good equipment that has married the space providing beautiful results. Thanks Akin!

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Do what you love, and you'll learn for life. That mantra is something we feel strongly about, and it's been a guiding principle of the work that we do in the studio. Aside from production and engineering, everyone who works at Akin has a professional performance background that spans almost 40 years. We stay current in the scene, because we're apart of it and heavily invested in every aspect of the recording process.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Don't Settle! Recording is an art in the way that what you put to paper, strum and sing becomes a reflection of your OWN art too. If the recording environment seems sterile, or the engineer doesn't seem to care about not remembering your name- the music you record will reflect that environment without exception.
