What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As a professional appraiser we have continuing education standards to keep our with trends, valuations and regulations.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always had a love of history. I started with Civil War items, added firearms, pocket watches, books, jewelry, artwork, photos and furniture. Each type of antique has its own set of collectors and values.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We do a lot of appraisal work for "equitable distribution". This means that we value an estate so that the heirs can divide up the items equally. We also handle many appraisals for divorce cases . Many times we are appointed by the Court to be a "neutral" appraiser" . We travel all over the world on these jobs.
