FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
At least once per year I attend a photography workshop or conference of some sort. I started out attending Triangle Institute for Professional Photographers, which was run by a local Pittsburgh professional photography organization. More recently, I've attended After Dark Education multiple times, ShutterFest, & FOCUS Pittsburgh, all of which have been eye opening and life changing in terms of photographic education. I've met the most amazing photographers from all over the country and have been able to make some great connections and friendships by attending these events year after year.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My photography journey began in 2008, shortly after graduating from Duquesne University, when I was given the incredible opportunity to travel across the United States photographing for a documentary about motorcycle travel through our National Parks system. I continued developing my photography skills and education after that trip, gradually progressing from landscape & nature photography into the world of portraits & weddings. I photographed my first wedding in 2010, fell in love with the process, and officially launched my business in August 2011.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Typically I photograph weddings, engagement sessions, & high school seniors. I also do professional head shots & other portrait sessions such as children & families.
