FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
It kind of found me actually. I originally studied graphic design in college but the idea of sitting in front of a computer all day lost its appeal. During a hiatus I was helping a close friend who just purchased a new home. As I assisted her with space planning and color choices the process evolved naturally with my design background. Instinctively I gravitated to the interior design field and have enjoyed every experience along the way.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Space planning is my strong suit. I worked for few years in the kitchen and bath industry where it is imperative that a space be functional as well as aesthetically pleasing. I enjoy it because I thrive in a space that is organized and fluid. But I also love the creative side of the selections process. Assisting clients with furniture and accessories is what actually makes the space come alive.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Look for a designer that is truly interested in seeing your vision come to fruition not give you a version of what they feel you should like. I hear it all the time from new clients who worked with a designer in the past and now want to change their look because it didn't suit there taste or the lifestyle they live.
