Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: Most pet care providers have the passion for animals. But passion is half of the battle, We've taken steps to ensure we are professional. This done by securing our License, Bond and Insured which is great for reassuring clients that they are working with professionals. However, we've taken it one step further by being a certified as a Professional Dog Walker, Pet CPR and Pet First Aid. We read and watch videos regarding the latest techniques and training tips for dogs and cats. This is what we do to make sure clients understand this is our life not just a job. What I love most about my career choice, is that I'm able to follow my passion. So I wake up every morning excited to see whom I'm walking, sitting or off leash playing with. But it really comes down to seeing the joy when I come into the home to walk or sit with the pet(s). I’m adding enrichment into their lives which they turn around and add more enrichment into their owners life. What a way to spend my day, with a smile.

Mike is awesome! I rely on him several times during the work week to walk my dog (he also provides care for Annie when I'm out of town). Mike is quick to respond to messages and is very accommodating. He sends great pictures of his dog-walking adventures and best of all Annie's behavior has gotten a lot better since he started taking care of her. I highly recommend Mike!

Mike's awesome. You can count on him to show up on time, be responsible, trustworthy, and give your dog a great workout. My dog really seems to love Mike. Hutch (my dog) is a little high maintenance and I never worry about him when he's with Mike.

He watched my cats for me and did an incredible job. My cats are ancient and he was able to manage their medication and everything! I was out of town for 4 days and they were so well taken care of. It was so nice to have a worry free vacation-I came home and my cats didn't even miss me, which shows what great care he took of my pets! I recently moved and am missing one of my cats, and he continually checks the house for me to let me know if the wandering cat has returned.

It has been SO wonderful having Mike take care of my pup, Levi. He does a great job of sharing pictures of her walks with him, and really cares about the animals AND their humans! He's wonderful!

It was a pleasure meeting Mike for the first time. We arranged a meet and greet at my home the night before. Mike arrivived at the agreed time, was truly polite, professional, as well as an obvious dog lover. In our first meeting, Mike and I openly discussed the needs of my cockapoo Panda. As well as my crazy work schedule obligations. All of which Mike was able to accommodate. Mike has a great work ethic, philosopy in enjoying life, and a great respect for our four legged family members!

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

After 5 years as an Investment Banker, the relationship ended and I knew it was time to ignite my entrepreneurial spirit. Simply put this is what I love to do and I wish I would have started years ago. But the little voice in the back of my head said try this job then do that job, but it wasn't my passion. What a joy I get when I'm out walking, sitting or playing, knowing that my clients trust me with their pet(s). I'm very blessed to as say I love what I do.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

The advice, I would give is to make sure you do a meet & greet so you'll get to know each other, to make sure it's the right fit for both parties . Ask if they are licensed, bonded, insured and what certification to do they have as a pet care provider. Ask if they have pet(s) because you want someone who understand that you are trusting them with your family member.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

As a pet care provider, it is much harder them just grabbing a leash for a walk, or going into a home to pet sit. I'm held responsible for the pet(s) in my care. So I have to think about anything and everything that could go right or wrong. That is a lot of pressure and I have to handle it all in a professional manner.
