Introduction: I bring years of education and experience in making music and the music industry to the table. As a youngster I played in symphonic band, marching band and jazz band and went on to study music in college as well as touring, recording and teaching. I am also not only a father of a grown child but have worked for a number of years as a foster parent. I believe that my experience as a parent has enhanced my skills as a teacher in that I have high expectations for myself as an instructor as well as high expectations for my students. Not only do I really enjoy teaching and those moments when students "get it" but it's a pleasure to see them progress as players. I have former students that have gone on to become excellent players, have gone on to study music in college and have performed publicly in a variety of situations.

John taught me everything I know today about the guitar. He taught me from literally 0% experience and knowing nothing about the guitar to playing and directing bands of my own. He taught me to advance beyond just a guitar player into becoming a musician, as well as taught me the extremely important skills of ear training and how to work efficiently with others in bands. I studied seriously with John for about 2 years, but have remained in contact with him since 2007 when I started playing guitar. To this day, I value his advice and opinions as a musician and a mentor. In the past, I have recommended John as the "go to" teacher numerous times to friends who have shown even a faint interest in learning a musical instrument.

John was my first Guitar teacher and I only wish I had known how valuable my lessons were looking back. I started playing late in High School and was unable to continue once I graduated. In the short time that I took lessons I learned so many fundamentals that have allowed me to go forward with my playing sans-teacher. For my senior project in High School John let me and a friend record a few songs in his home and mentored us along the way. He didn't ask for anything in return and truly wanted to see us grow as musicians. I can't recommend him enough!

John is dedicated and knows his craft well! He was always timely, predictable, passionate, and the guy has loads of experience. This is a great guitar teacher for either the advanced or beginning player, as he is time flexible and truly knows what he's talking about. Not to mention great at adapting to the personality of his students.
