- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
A key piece of advice is to ask up front what a legal service is going to cost before the work is started, and how the fees will be calculated. Your lawyer should bring this up, but if not then you need to ask before work begins. If you are given an hourly rate, you should ask how many hours it will take to complete your work. Any business lawyer with a reasonable amount of experience should be able to give you this information. You also need to know exactly what the legal fees will include, or not include, to be able to accurately compare quotes for legal services, including when you compare services that are alternatives to legal services, such as online template agreements, business set up services and the like.
