Introduction: The most rewarding part of my work is the ability to see the change in someone's face when they take that first look in the mirror and smile. I love what I do, and how it makes people feel. In this industry you meet all different types of people. It's amazing how much I learn about myself and the world with each individual story. When I first decided to change professions I went in this industry thinking, how hard can this be, well I can certainly say that I was wrong. There was a point after starting that I doubted myself. One day I had a client who was going through a very tough time in her life. Let's just say that she had not been to a salon for a very long time. Everyone at some point of their life has been through tough time's or will have to go through it. I listened and wanted to make her feel better. What I did realize at that very moment was that I created art, I paint on canvas, I design either on the computer, Light-bulb! I started my service with a 3-dimensional color; high, mid and low lights. I cut her hair with layers and after blow dry styling with a touch natural make-up, I was so nervous and hoped that she liked it. I turned her to the mirror and she started to cry not just a tear drop cry but a full cry. I almost fell telling myself I'm awful she doesn't like it. Everyone started running over thinking something went wrong. Then she got up looked in my eyes hugged me and told me that I was an amazing stylist, in her words " I didn't think I could ever look so beautiful." This story and many others is why I love doing what I do.
I am a natural artist, for that I love to paint and create things. I am a visual person so I always see my final piece. Hair and Make-up its just another form of art. It makes me feel like I made someones day when I finish and they take a look in the mirror, and see themselves. I love that smile on a persons face. I believe that its those short moments in life that truly make you happy. Its a great feeling.
