FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our fee structure is based on an hourly fee model. We will discuss your case free of charge for up to an hour (two hours for estate planning) to determine what your needs are and how we can help. Then we'll give you a written estimate of the total cost of your case, and take a deposit at the time you sign the fee agreement.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Usually the new client will call or email our office and speak to a trained paralegal intake specialist who will ask for some information about the client and the case. At that point we will likely ask for some paperwork about your case, if you have any, and schedule you for a time to meet with one of our attorneys for the free consultation to discuss what we can do for you. Sometimes in particularly urgent cases, you will get on the phone with a lawyer right away. There is no obligation after the free consultation, but you will get a written quote and if you choose to work with us, you will sign a contract and pay a retainer, after which we get started on your case.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I earned my law degree with honors from Cornell Law School. I stay up to date on the latest developments in the law. I am an active participant in online forums for Massachusetts Lawyers and a frequent teacher of continuing education courses. I also take around 50 hours a year of continuing education courses as a student.
