- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The first hour session is complimentary and preferably in person to determine if we will work well together and to evaluate your current level of expertise. My pricing system is designed to allow you a number of options that will fit your budget. The hourly charge is $30.00 per hour if paid per weekly lesson. A discounted price to $26.00 is available if paid monthly. An additional discount to $24.00 per hour is available if paid monthly and lessons are done via Skype. While I do have a 24 hour cancellation policy, I also offer make up lessons.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I belong to a number of professional groups including The TESOL Connection, TESOL International Association, ESL International, ELT Professionals Around The World, i Teach English and TESOL. I have found that networking online with other professionals is the best way to continually sharpen my skills and stay current with the latest teaching methods and especially with the latest technology as this is extremely useful for both myself and the student.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Choose a teacher you feel comfortable with because teaching is 30% language instruction and 70% encouragement. Encouragement needs to be given in many different ways such as by pointing out the actual things the student is doing correctly and often by NOT correcting everything that is said incorrectly.
