FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Learning more songs in less time with the Simply Music method will save you money in the long run and the result will be that you/your child will develop musicianship, ease of play, composing and improvisational skills, a wide repertoire, etc.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
New students must attend an in-studio or on-line Free Introductory Session before they can be enrolled. It's important that students and parents know what the Simply Music program is, how it works, what results we promise, how we achieve those results, etc. It's also a great opportunity to meet "face to face" and see if we are a good match!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've been a student of music since I was 7 years old and first started teaching piano in high school. For me, teaching traditional lessons wasn't enjoyable. I could see that those students who couldn't read musical notation easily, struggled and eventually quit lessons thinking they were "not musical". As a teenager, I didn't have the tools to help them along. I gave up, stopped teaching, studied music in college, and concluded that if there was only one way to teach piano, I'd never teach again. It was much later, in 2007 that I discovered a playing-based teaching method called Simply Music that things really changed. I became a Licensed Simply Music Teacher in May of 2007 and have watched students of all ages and abilities succeed with this program!
