I have been fortunate to work with Amanda for family photos a few occasions now, and every time the results blow me away. She has an eye for composition and lighting and all the technical stuff, to be sure, but where she really shines is interaction. I have twin sons who are 4 years old, not an easy task to get them both in the frame (I know, I've tried!) She manages to not only get them both in, and my husband and myself, she gets from them genuine smiles without fail. It is always so difficult to pick my favorite images, and I am the proud owner of at least half a dozen Amanda Loch canvas prints hanging on my walls. I ran out of wall space before I ran out of options. In addition to a Mom of Twins, I am a sometimes-blogger and Amanda has helped me out a few times with photo-shoots for blog posts and projects. She is flexible and professional and was able to get the shots I wanted and needed and the shots I didn't know I'd need and want. I will definitely be using her services for more projects as I need them and to document my family for years to come. I cannot recommend her highly enough, her work, her interaction, her promptness are all perfect. You can, and should, trust Amanda to capture the essence of your family in a fun, professional and comfortable way.

Amanda has been photographing my daughter since her 1st birthday, and there's no one else I'd rather have to take our photos! Amanda is truly a professional, with a great website and links that help busy moms like me pick out outfits that will photograph well. I'm also a fan of letting professionals take the reigns when it comes to doing what they do....Amanda is no exception. She has a great eye for the types of poses that work well for kids and families, as well as picking the best locations based on their backgrounds and lighting. What I appreciated most was her demeanor with kids. She got some amazing shots of my daughter laughing because of her interaction with her and how comfortable Amanda made her feel. She's a fabulous photographer for any family or kids photos!

Amanda has taken our family photos for the past two years. She is wonderful to work with! She scouts out great locations and is very good at putting her subjects at ease to get natural, fun shots. I have been beyond pleased with the end results each time!

Amanda took much needed updated pictures of our four children and did a fantastic job. She took us to a prairie center in Schaumburg and the scenery was a perfect background for the photos, which turned out beautiful. We highly recommend Amanda!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I often take classes through the community college to keep my skills fresh and inspired. I have been featured in art shows at Harper for my photographic work.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I couldn't put the camera down!
What types of customers have you worked with?
Family sessions are my most common type of photo session, followed by engagements. Sessions are relaxed and I encourage natural smiles by helping my customers relax and interact with each other as if I wasn't there. We pick a beautiful spot to meet (I have lots of ideas if you don't have a place in mind) and meet around sunset for a beautiful session that usually lasts an hour.
