About
I work one on one with my clients (not a 'headshot mill') to achieve the best possible results for their marketing purposes. I know what CDs and other industry professionals respond to and use that information to create headshots that are the most effective. Headshots are not just for actors though. Many professionals and others come to me for everything from professional profile shots to online dating site images. I guarantee your satisfaction with the results. I love working with new talented people everyday. My greatest joy though comes from the results my photos create. When I hear back: "Hey my new headshots got me a guest star audition, and I booked it!" or: "The new shots are getting me out more than I've ever been before!" THATS what I really love about my job: Making my clients happy. :)

I just had a headshot session with Jonathan at Vandiveer Photography. He was totally professional, and it was great fun. I haven't done anything like this - well, ever before - so I didn't know what to expect. It was sort of like being in a silent film, or perhaps an improv scene, with the director throwing out suggestion after suggestion while the action/shoot was taking place. And the shots came out great. Btw, you get about a million takes to choose from.Take a chance on this guy . . . you'll be glad you did.

First, I LOVE the head shots, and more importantly, my agents really love the shots he took. The whole experience was professional, and I felt comfortable from the word "go." Jonathan was so easy to work with, I got several different looks in a short amount of time. He knows what he's doing, he's thoughtful about his approach; he is a consummate pro, and because he's also an actor, he knows how to work with actors. Top of the line work.

I really don't like the "5 Star" rating system, because I think Jonathan desearves 9 stars out of 10. I'm a part-time musician & I didn't know squat about how to pose for professional pictures, but Jon remedied that in a hurry. He was patient, & just simply walked me through the process. The end result said it all. Out of about 250 or so shots, I expected maybe 25 - 30 might be good, but about 1/2 were above average & 80 - 90 were exceptional. The pictures were very clear & I saw myself for the first time on film as others eyes see me. Jon was fantastic in answering my 50 phone calls with 200 questions, and I never had to wait long for a response. The down side to the shoot? I was so busy I didn't have time to drink my beer! Nice job Jon & thank you for the images!

FAQs

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

Most of my shoots are with working or aspiring actors, however I also shoot many professionals as well. Writers, directors, bloggers, scientists engineers, doctors and sometimes just people who want a nice picture of themselves. Headshots and portraits are my thing but I also occasionally shoot album covers, still life and landscape art.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Shop around, find someone who you're comfortable with and who has a proven track record. It's important also to find out how much time they'll be spending with you and whether that time is one-on-one or whether you'll be sharing your shoot time. These questions are often overlooked and can be deal-breakers.
