Type of work
Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: Matrix Editorial Services specializes in academic editing: master's theses, dissertations, research proposals, journal articles, and academic books, with a preferred emphasis on scholarship in the humanities and social sciences. I also provide coaching services specifically aimed at specialized clientele, such as academics with ADHD and minority students and faculty struggling with racism and other "-isms" in the academy.

Georgia Nesmith helped me get my MA thesis in shape for final publication. She does fantastic work, and really helps clients not only understand what needs to be changed, but why as well. This is an important factor when having someone assist you with such an important project. I worked with her with this past year, and i received regular updates from her on the progression on my work. Her services are also reasonably priced as well, (an important factor these days). If you are in need of help, get in contact with Georgia Nesmith!

I worked closely with Georgia during the writing and editing stages of my dissertation. She was both a supportive mentor and professional editor. After a successful defense and landing my dream job, I have continued to work with Georgia on book chapters and articles as I move towards tenure. Georgia offers invaluable editing services; she is a great communicator and is responsible to deadlines. She is a problem solver with extensive experience in her field. I highly recommend Matrix Editorial, particularly for advanced graduate students and junior faculty in need of editorial services and project support.

FAQs

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

Dissertations, articles for academic publication, coaching (especially for ADHD academics and minority clients who have additional hoops to jump through). Also creative writing -- novels, short stories, essays, poetry. I have an online support group (text discussion and voice meetings via internet 1x week) for ADHD clients and will be adding a general support group as well as a minority achievement group.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Giant companies that provide services similar to mine will not give you the personalized service nor the attention to the psychology of writing that will help you do so much better in the future. You will have much more flexibility -- I prefer to work a chapter or several chapters at a time rather than waiting for all chapters to be completed.
