Introduction: I think my work is very classic. It's something that will still look good fifty years from now. I don't over edit and I use light in a flattering way. I have a bright, clean style of shooting and when you look back on my work many years from now, I would hope you'd still be happy with it. I love getting to create art, especially for other people. I always wanted to have a creative career as a child. I was constantly making jewelry or drawing in my notebook but when I found photography I knew this was what I was meant to do. When I'm shooting, my heart is SO happy and it's like it's the only thing that matters.

I don't even know where to begin about our experience with Meredith! She was absolutely amazing! One of the most important aspects of our wedding day was our photographer and the quality of pictures we would receive. I really wanted someone who we could connect with and someone who would enjoy celebrating our wedding day with us. My search ended after engagement pictures with Meredith Sledge Photography. We instantly felt comfortable with her and knew she was the one, I had to have for my wedding. Our engagement pictures were stunning! They were everything I ever wanted and more than I could ever expect. Our wedding was in Hampton Virginia and our reception in Smithfield Virginia. Meredith was more than willing to travel to us and spend the whole night photographing our wedding. She was on time and ready to go with a huge smile. Which made me feel very relaxed and comfortable. She really listened to what we wanted and did a perfect job capturing every aspect of our wedding. I can look back at my pictures and feel as if I am there in that moment again. She was not only professional but also felt as it she was a life long friend of ours. I cannot brag about her and her work enough! I would recommend her to everyone. Her work is simply amazing! She also was very timely in returning emails. She offered great advice and accepted any ideas I had about the photography. I had a very large bridal party, ten bridesmaids, nine groomsmen; four ring bearers and one flower girl. Meredith had no trouble getting everyones attention and getting pictures done before our ceremony! If that doesn't take talent I don't know what does! ☺ I am constantly reminded of our perfect wedding and of the awesome work done by Meredith Sledge photography when I look at all the wedding blogs that our wedding is featured in! Absolutely Amazing Photographer!

Yes!! I constantly watch CreativeLive, which is an online resource for photographers and I also read a lot of educational blogs and meet with other photographers.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I fell in love with photography when I met a wedding photographer that my brother knew. I had an SLR before that which I was playing around with but when I met this photographer, I went to her blog and read every post. It was then that my dream of being a full-time photographer started. I knew I had to do this. From then on, I made my friends model for me and I started second shooting weddings. I discovered light, locations, and working with people was something I adored.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I most commonly shoot portraits and weddings.
