FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I like to go by sq ft when I can. But again, there are so many variables. It can go from $10-$50 a sq ft depending on the material it is being installed on and amount of detail the client is expecting. You also need to take in account equipment rental if you are working with lifts or scaffolding. I will usually give a cap and discounts if the project is quite large.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In my studio I'm constantly experimenting with new mediums and techniques to use in future projects. Always fun to learn something new to implement it later.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
After opening the gallery I started to get contracts designing a few restaurants. Now this is my emphasis and I enjoy doing it. Also there is far less stress in murals and general design than selling original art and throwing events to get people to buy.
