Introduction: I tend to shoot from the heart and not by following standard poses and practices. I prefer candid photos as opposed to posed/staged ones, as I think more genuine emotion comes through. Telling a story through images, being able to capture and convey the emotions and energy of the day. Making people happy with the photos that I took of and for them.

Monica helped me with some photos for the scooter sharing start-up I work for. We've used the photos all over our website, informational and promotional pages, and ads. My husband and I hired Monica for our wedding photo shoot and could not after asked for a more wonderful experience, and results! Monica has an incredible talent for natural scenery, lighting, and positioning. We weren't too experienced with taking professional pictures, but Monica made us feel so comfortable and gave us great suggestions. Best of all, our pictures turned out amazing and we've gotten nothing but compliments on them! I've been recommended Monica to everyone I know, she's simply awesome at her craft!

Monica took engagement photos for my fiancé and I. She was really easy to shoot with, made us feel very comfortable (i.e. not awkward) in front of the camera, and the photos turned out gorgeous. She really cares about the little details, like finding the best locations and times to get the light just right. What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All the time. Always taking online classes, either through Skillshare or Creative Live, and planning on taking some Berkeley Extension and CCA classes to learn a few new skills, such as In Design for building my own books and magazines.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Portrait, editorial, engagement, wedding, travel and outdoors gear product shots.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I took photos for Scoot Networks and Bolt Motorbikes, two San Francisco based startups that specialize in electric bikes, either for ride-sharing or owning. It was great to do action shots outdoors, work with a passionate production team and shoot mostly with available light.
