FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing system isn't very complicated, but I feel it's worth mentioning. Basically, the more you train and the more people that train the less it is per person. My most precious commodity isn't expertise or knowledge, but rather time. Time is required to do all things, is finite, and can never be returned or exchanged. This being said, If I spend more time per week training a client, I can maximize my efforts with said client. If I can train two, three, four, or more clients in an hour or so, I can make more money in that hour and devote more time to other endeavors and clients. This also allows me to pass on savings to the clients and also enrich the training session.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have to continue my education in order to maintain my certification. The American Council on Exercise (ACE) requires that I fulfill two credits of continuing education per every two years to maintain my certification. To aid in this, there are numerous workshops, conventions, specialty training certification and industry journals that I can use to this end. This allows me to know what is going on nationally and even regionally but a keen ear to the ground helps me know what is important locally.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
When I got out of the Marines I went right into college in 2006. I was looking for an edge in my studies and knew that health and fitness positively affected cognitive performance and temperament so I started eating better and working out more. Friends of mine would occasionally ask me for health and fitness advice and I found that I knew a lot about it and that I liked instructing my friends and others about the subject. This being the case, I decided to get certified once I had done some research into the profession and thought that I had a good chance at excelling and helping people out.
