Introduction: Global Editing and Translation Services (GET Services) is a small (but growing!!) copy editing and translation company. GET Services a real-life experiment in human nature. Get is built upon the premise that if you keep your employees happy, they will not dread coming to work; therefore, their work will be of a much higher quality.
GET copy editors, proofreaders, and translators are colleagues with whom I have worked throughout my years as an editor and am proud to call my friends. It is imperative that GET copy editors, proofreaders, and translators enjoy a work environment that allows them to concentrate on doing what they love! There is not much in life, outside of our incredible families, that brings us greater pleasure than helping others to make the most of their writing.
I am the owner and founder, Laura Roberts. Holding degrees in English and Secondary Education, I have been a freelance proofreader and copy editor for over ten years now. With my team of extremely talented translators, copy editors, and proofreaders, we have a combined 30+ years of experience!
GET copy editors, proofreaders, and translators have experience editing and translating a diverse range of texts, including children's books, poetry, fiction, educational materials, business forms and manuals, technical manuals and guides, grant proposals, school and job applications, and various educational and marketing materials written by both native and non-native English speakers.
GET copy editors and proofreaders work closely with authors to develop their materials in a clear and consistent manner, and of course, correct grammar, punctuation, structure, spelling, usage, wordiness, and a million (may be exaggerated just a bit!) other things that will probably just bore you.
All GET translators are native speakers who will translate and/or edit documents meticulously, ensuring that they not only maintain the authorsâ true voices, but also that their text is translated into the actual native language they wish to attain. All documents are given the final approval by a native-speaking professional, so English translations will also be double-checked by one of our talented native-English speaking copy editors or proofreaders.
GET Services also provides HTML editing, and we are well versed in copy editing and proofreading documents written for the web. GET editors and translators will verify that website content (including links) is in working order and in a lovely format. While GET professionals work to bring new life to your documents, we also strive to do so while maintaining your voice and sense of style.
GET professionals prefer to utilize Microsoft Word's Track Changes feature, although we will also work with physical documents. Furthermore, professionals will utilize other programs when the clients prefer, such as Google Docs, Windows Live, Acrobat Reader, and Mavenlink.
